reverse osmosis reject water

Requirement

Even though reverse osmosis reject streams are not regulated, there is a requirement if the daily average volume exceeds 300 gallons per day.  Since this water adds to the hydraulic load in MWRA's sewer system, it is preferable that it be eliminated from discharging to the sewer if possible.  In that regard, you may be required to investigate the probability of using the rejected water somewhere on-site, whether that be in cooling tower makeup, for irrigating landscaping, or some other usage.  A report detailing the results of this investigation may be required.  We will complete this report at your request.
